ICLEI’s well–established Cities for Climate Protection® (CCP) Campaign, launched in 1993, is now providing more than 800 cities—home to 260 million people in 29 countries—with a performance–based methodology, technical expertise and resources for developing and implementing climate protection plans. Through the Cities for Climate Protection Campaign, ICLEI is helping these 800+ cities collectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 70 million tons annually. This expertise, uniquely developed for and delivered to local governments, is offered by no other organization.

Sundance Preserve
The Sundance Preserve is dedicated to maintaining the balance of art, natural and community as well as the cultivation of independent, innovative thought amongst artists, scholars, scientists, public policy and business leaders. Residing within the protected splendor of its own preserved lands, it is the mission of the Sundance Preserve to inspire action for the benefit of civil society.
For decades Robert Redford and Sundance have played a role in convening diverse audiences to solve some of our nation’s greatest challenges. Beginning in the early eighties Sundance has convened conferences that bring together environmental, cultural and business leaders to find common ground on crucial issues of our time, including the future of the electric utility industry; resource development on Indian lands, off–shore oil development, urban air quality, global warming and western water issues.

“The Sundance Summit has resulted in an exciting and growing movement, led by the actions of mayors across this country who are closest to real people and are offering real solutions to the most daunting challenge of our time. These tangible steps save money, protect the environment, enhance public health and overall quality of life and leave me incredibly optimistic for the future.”
